When I was young I faced one of the toughest challenges in my life. If you’d like to read about it you can do so here: https://armouryfitness.ca/the-blue-dumbbells/
Those blue dumbbells help me overcome that challenging time twenty seven years ago.
But now I can see that’s not where the story ended. It’s where it began. It’s where a seed was planted. That seed represented love. A love for resistance training.
Not a love for the results of resistance training. But rather a love of the process. A love of the work itself. A love of pain and burn. A love of progress little by little. A love for becoming capable of more through consistent effort.
I made a key discovery that resistance training makes the impossible possible.
I could no longer keep it to myself. I wanted to share it. More people had to experience this power.
As such, I became a fitness professional fourteen years ago and never looked back.
Since then I have:
- Coached hundreds through 1-on-1 personal training
- Opened my own fitness facility seven years ago
- Developed my own strength training brand
The brand is a reflection of what I believe strength training should be. It should be:
- Fun (or it won’t last)
- Difficult (or it won’t work)
- Doable (or it won’t be safe)
Coaching strength training is one of my favourite ways to spend my time. Which leads me back to my opening thought.
Your passions in life are not just for you. They are for you to help/serve/inspire others through the passion and knowledge you’ve collected over the years.
I’m grateful for the current members of The ARMOURY who grant me the privilege of doing this week in, week out. It gives me purpose, which is one of the great fuels for success in life.
Passion and purpose are often discovered through adversity.
Adversity creates the fertile soil that key seeds can be planted in our life.
Whether those seeds grow into something beautiful that positively impact the world depends on you and your response to the challenge. You can:
A) Feel sorry for yourself and live life as a victim of circumstance.
or
B) Let those seeds grow and use them to make the world a better place than you found it.
It’s your call.
